The young female leopard lifted her feet slowly, creating a soft, slow thrumming noise as her feet alternated, carrying her into the Comatose Glen. She had heard of it, at least, in a way she had. Her mother had told her that it was a place that put cats to sleep instantly. Of course, at the moment, Sombra just viewed it as something that was meant to keep herself and Alegria from wandering to far away, with some sort of fear. Of course, Sombra now looked back upon that and laughed.
Her mother really should have worked better at things to keep them from doing things that they shouldn't have done. Sombra's mother told her that if she talked to strangers she would end up kidnapped, or, maybe even killed. Well look how that had turned out in the end. Sombra still walked up to any cat she met and innocently spoke to them. No wariness. Her mother would be frightened. So very frightened.
Sombra gave a soft smile to herself, a slight up lifting of her lips in a catlike smile. Her yellow green eyes flickered across the glade, taking in her surroundings with an openness that she nearly always managed to retain.
The female gave her head a shake, eyes flickering about once more as Sombra wandered closer to the center of the glen. There was some sort of peacefulness about it. And Sombra liked it. it almost suited her. Matched her quite well, in fact. The tranquility that was supposed to lull cats to sleep, or, at least, near sleep. It sort of fit her, in a way, at least.

Fenris felt a low, malicious growl stir in the depths of his chest. It worked up to his throat, and at first he really didn't know what he was growling at. Then his nose and ears twitched and warned him that someone was approaching. He stopped his rumbling instantly, cutting off the noises and leaving the world in complete silence. Well, almost complete silence. The slight flow of the water nearby was still singing softly, and the few bugs inhabiting the place irritably sounding around the place. The slightly warm, humid air massaged Fenris' muscles, the sun softly beating down on his snow leopard back.
Fenris' light amber eyes widened in interest as the lovely female feline pranced into view. Her golden pelt shimmered in the sunlight, and she seemed rather beautiful. If Fenris wasn't angry at the moment he probably would have been rather attracted, never mind Vitani, his wife, or his children. They were very useful for continuing the royal lineage, of course. They were vital, in fact. But did Fenris particularly love his children? Not always. His wife was someone he more admired, too, for her sense of grace and natural acclaim of power. Sure, he'd do anything to protect them, of course. That was obvious. But as the fatal countdown was fast approaching and his time as ruler was almost up, the king knew he was going to have to choose between family and power. Power was always Fenris' true love, probably the only love of his life that he'd ever stay with through the end. The solitary soul was beginning to wonder what he would choose, and how the public would react. But he had a few years yet to wait. He'd cross that bridge when it came.
The king was beginning to feel pressure in the palace. His children, or the eldest, anyway, were already pairing up with mates. Future rulers, duchesses and dukes, a queen and... a king. You've done so much to get this, Fenris Arei often told himself. You're going to let a child take it from you? But it was his child. Anyone born of him was worthy enough to take it. Maybe he need to accept his fate. It was practically doomed anyway.
As the female moved deeper into the glen, Fenris licked his lips and prepared himself to approach. He wasn't going to sit there and wait for her to find him, that would be quite inappropriate. He headed out, his muscles rippling intimidatingly under his pelt, his amber eyes flashing dangerously. This leopard disturbed his peace, and though he knew it wasn't her fault, he felt like having some fun.
"Excuse me," he said in a deep, powerful voice. "Hi. Do you feel peaceful? I did, until you entered. What is your business here, citizen?" To Fenris, every scrap of land in Dolce was his, and everyone was owned by him. He wanted to know who this female was, and she was going to answer him.

Sombra whirled around as she heard the deep voice speaking to her, saying 'Excuse me.' The movement was quick and smooth, not a stumbling, confused movement. Sombra blinked slowly as she examined the cat that she was facing. She didn't recognize him. But then again - she did live her life as a loner, away from most other cats, so she wasn't wrapped up in all of the going ons of the civilizations of cats. She was well aware that they were there. She had gone to one as a cub. She just favored minding her own business and staying out of the spotlight.
Sombra payed close attention as the male said hi to her, and asked if she felt peaceful. She was going to answer, but she didn't. The male was talking, after all, she wasn't going to disrupt him mid sentence with her response. No, that wasn't the polite thing to do. Not at all. The female's head tilted slightly as the male said he was enjoying the peace until she entered, and then he asked what her business was here, calling her a citizen.
"Yes, I was enjoying the peacefulness. Thank you." She said, her voice soft and polite. "And I am sorry if I disturbed you. I didn't know I was blundering around. I thought I was being rather quiet, in fact." She said, giving a shrug, raising and lowering her shoulders slightly. True, she had meant to just enjoy the peace and be quiet. She wasn't sure if she had been loud. Though she thought she would have noticed, the female wasn't that sure, though.
"I was simply wandering through here." She said, softly, "Enjoying the peace, as well, on my way through." She said, a soft, friendly smile playing across her muzzle. It was hard for her not to be friendly, even if the male seemed powerful, and not exactly as friendly as she was, in anyway.
"Where am I a citizen of, may I ask? I never knew I was part of a civilization?" There was a bit of curiosity that was shining through the female's voice. She didn't know what civilization the male spoke of, there were quite a few, Sombra knew that much, but she didn't know all of the civilizations and groups by names. Nor had she exactly felt the urge to learn all of those names.
"I am Sombra Cazadora." The female said softly, yellow green eyes remaining focused on the male's form, she didn't fear an attack, she just believed it was the polite thing to do, to be focused on the cat that you were speaking to. "May I ask your name? I'm afraid I've never met you before." She said, friendliness ringing in her soft voice as she politely asked the male's name.

Fenris' nearly stared in disbelief. Was she serious? Did she not know who he was? Stupid loners are so clueless, he thought, his ears twitching in shock. He stepped closer to her, now in perfect lunging distance, and simply stood to size her up. He felt his tail curl and lash behind him as he looked into her innocent golden eyes. Then, in a chuckle that almost surprised himself, he broke into a wide grin and bellowed out a few laughs.
"I forget how ignorant you loners can sometimes be," the king said with a chuckle, his mouth widening to show his pointed teeth. He flashed her a seemingly sociable smile, but his eyes were shimmering dangerously. The warmth in his voice was nothing short of unnerving, though how the leopard took it he really couldn't tell. A fantasy ripped through his head, one of simply slicing the beautiful creature open on the spot. He found much pleasure in the thought, so wishing to shatter the gorgeous animal in his paws, her being a female nonetheless. Fenris enjoyed showing his power and dominance, and murdering innocents, especially beautiful ones, was a pleasure he rarely took. Adrenaline coursed through him, his mind filling with visions of blood. He tried to imagine it, her body fighting and outraged until simply going limp in his jaws.... Knock it off! he thought, scattering all thoughts of bloodshed for the moment. A murder in the glen would be very suspicious, especially since you weren't in the palace this morning. You may be the king, but you can't always be saved. The thought was little comfort for his anticipated treat, but he let it settle. He'd just have to chat for now.
"Well, Sombra Cazadora, you are currently standing in the district of Elke." His voice rumbled powerfully as he kept the smile and stood defiantly. "Elke is an area inside of Dolce. Simple enough for you to grasp? Hm?" Fenris was seemingly relaxed, but he chided her, his eyes teasing most of all. He paced a little, back and forth, until he eventually approached closer, sitting closely in front of her. Her golden fur buffeted in the soft breeze, as did his silver pelt, and he eyed her coat with interest. She seemed delicate, friendly, innocent. Ignorant as well, not to be on her guard. She was intelligent, smart, beautiful. Thoughts of his wife guiltily crept into his head, and he let them work their way in. Vitani, his "true love", was for him, not this waste of a leopard. Vitani was already his, he had to stand by her. But who actually bought that true love crap anyway? Fenris Arei didn't.
"Let me introduce myself. I am Fenris Arei. King Fenris Arei, actually. I own every scrap of land, every blade of grass you are touching. And, as long as you have one claw in Dolce, I even own you." The contemporary satisfaction sifted through him, his expression darkening savagely. His frown vanished, turning into something resembling a scowl, his eyes losing all teasing aspects and simply flashing like fire. The ruler raised his eyebrows, impatiently waiting for her to respond. Let us see what this reaction brings, he thought, imagining his own to be unpredictable as well.
ooc: Sorry it's sort of dark. I'm trying to get into the head of a power hungry male.

Sombra's head tilted slightly as the male said that he had forgotten how ignorant loners were. That was curious to her, she had never really thought of herself as ignorant in anyway. "I don't see myself as ignorant." Sombra said, giving a slight shrug, "I simply see myself as detached from the complications that rise from communities." She said, raising and lowering her shoulders in another shrug. The female viewed ignorance as just denying that something was occuring in a way. But Sombra wasn't sure. Maybe the male was right.
Sombra was curious as the male said that she was standing in Elke, and he said Elke was a area within Dolce. Asking her if that was simple enough for her. "Yes, it is." She said, her voice remaining friendly and polite, dispite his chiding. Sombra couldn't remember hearing about Elke, or Dolce, at least, not very clearly. But there was always time to find out. It would be better to know, at least, than to blunder, unaware through out the forests.
Sombra watched the male intently as he introduced himself as Fenris Arei, saying he was actually King Fenris Arei, and that he owned every blade of grass that she was touching. And he said that as long as she had a claw in Dolce, that he even owned her.
Sombra arched an eyebrow slowly, how could the male own her? She was owned by herself. You might own yourself, you might own you home, you might own your prey. But you didn't own another cat. "You don't own me. I own me. Plain and simple." She said, eyes remaining focused on the male that was called Fenris Arei. "You may own yourself. You may own you 'palace' but you do not own me." Sombra's voice had turned rather fierce towards the end, shining through the politeness, and friendliness.
The female wasn't a big fan of the dark expression that was now covering Fenris's face. No. Not at all. Or the scowl, or the fire in his eyes. If the fire was for a good cause, then, well, maybe, but, at the moment, it confused her a bit, and, frightened her, ever so slightly. She wasn't sure what had exactly brought this on, but, being the reasonable jaguar that she was, Sombra hoped that it didn't result in any sort of violence. No. Sombra didn't really do violence.

Fenris kept his dark expression, though the fire in her tone was quite amusing. She thinks she can take me, he thought, his ears twitching in amusement. He stood, approaching the jaguar steadily and smoothly. A breeze blew through the weeds, ruffling his fur. Her eyes were gorgeous, a green/amber color, and the sun reflecting in them made them sparkle wonderfully. His own amber orbs shined, but not naturally. Quite unnervingly.
Fenris saw the passion in her soul, simply by looking in her eyes, but there was too much kindness masking the fire. He needed a closer look in her eyes. Lifting a large paw, he let an extended claw gently nudge her chin upward so she was looking directly into his eyes. "You're cute," he said, not bothering to explode on her. He'd just be wasting his breath, he knew. He had to show her that he knew he had the power, not just that he had it.
The king stood over the jaguar for quite some time, staring down at her until it finally got boring. His shadow covered the sun on her fur, but he backed away, his tail flicking behind him. "You're a pretty thing, aren't you?" he asked, already walking away from her. He stopped and turned to look over his shoulder. "Have fun in Dolce. Just remember, you're on my land, hon. Tread cautiously." Fenris' silver coat felt hotter by the second under the scorching sun. He headed into the reeds, wondering simply if she'd be curious enough to follow him. If not, fine, he could use the quiet. But if so... well, he'd see what happened.
The shade was welcoming- a cool shadow on his hot coat. He closed his malevolent eyes and relaxed, allowing the peace to come over him. He felt sleep creeping up on him, threatening to overcome him entirely. He fought it, keeping awake, making sure not to drift off in the darkness that was so tempting. What if the jaguar followed him? Then he'd be toast. So he stayed awake, staring out through the reeds at her and waiting for her to approach.
ooc: Wow, that sucked. I had no idea where to go with that.

Sombra was a bit surprised when Fenris lifted one of his paws, using a claw to lift he chin and make her eyes meet his, saying that she was cute. Okay, first of all this female wasn't used to getting compliments. She was sort of the one that everyone whispered about because she kept her head down, out of everyone's way, and remained hidden in the shadows. So, she didn't really recieve any compliments. Except when she was a cub. But, Sombra didn't really count that.
There was a bit of fear that awoke in the pit of the Jaguar's stomach, a sort of fight or flight sense, in a way. A nagging feeling that Fenris could very well attack her. Sombra's instincts relaxed when the male backed away, it wasn't any sort of terrifying to her, but, her instincts screamed otherwise to her.
Sombra raised an eyebrow slightly when Fenris said she was a pretty little thing, "Um?" She said, a bit confused. Yes, she wasn't as sure of herself as her sister, who was everything Sombra wasn't, friendly, talkative, happy, radiant and bright. So, yes, Sombra barely knew a compliment when it hit her in the face. At least, not really.
Sombra gave a slight smile, and a nod when the male, who was already starting away from her, said to have a fun time in Dolce, just to remember she was on his land and to tred carefully. "Thank you. I will." She said, her polite, friendly tone returning.
Sombra remained in the glen a few moments after the male left, letting the sun soak into her pelt and contemplating whether or not to go after him and to continue talking. A soft smile crossed her face as her feet began to move, setting herself on a trail after the male, who she found within the reeds.
"Hello, stranger!" She said brightly, giving a warm smile. She was a bit exuberant, yes, you could say that. But she was happy, friendly, and polite. That was all there was to her.
