Appearance Giselle is a petite and timid looking serval. She has thin cream-hazel fur that whitens around her stomach region. Burnished earthen toned rosettes cover the upper parts of her body. These spots seem to reflect light quite vividly. They are a pale bronze in bright sunlight but turn an inky black in darkness. She is lean but lacks the more muscular physique of a larger cat. She is, however, agile and spry due to her small size. Her eyes are a milky pink hue, round and usually appearing frightened. Her muzzle sports delicate whiskers that gently flick across her face and two wide ears with perceptive auditory talent. ♫ and only in the center can we begin to repair ♪ Preferences She enjoys art and music, preferring to walk the streets of the colorful, entertainment-filled bazaars. She likes freedom and solitude, but it is the solitude of her mind she yearns for. She likes having companions with her, but being able to sift her own thoughts in silence is much more preferable. However, she hates brutal treatment, and the dirty hovels of the slums she sleeps in. She despises cruel men and strong smells, as well as crime in general. Strengths Giselle has an excellent sense of hearing and is pretty good at swimming. She knows a little about painting and music and can withstand great amounts of pain. Weaknesses She is easily frightened of sudden noises and the sight of blood, although able to withstand pain. She is additionally slower than most of her species and often has trouble climbing. Personality Giselle is timid, easily terrified, passionate of art and music, and quite stubborn. She is quiet soul, preferring the solitude provided by her own mind and imagination. She is shy with strangers and even those she knows, hardly daring to open up to others. She cannot easily make friends and is very easily frightened. Torture and abuse invoke great screams from her, but only if she witnesses it inflicted upon someone other than her. Small insects also startle her into a shriek. She also has a passion for art and music. The little serval is frequently found prowling the streets of the crowded bazaars, whether or not she is enslaved. Although the markets are full of noise, when she gazes upon art or listens to the melodies carefully played by the entertainers, it is all she hears. Her nature is quite stubborn too, though a more appropriate word might be 'determined'. Regrets Not taking enough caution during her visit with Kenithe when his master was still around, thus causing a beating that ended his life. Secret Ambitions She just wants to be freed from slavery and learn how to paint and play music. History Giselle was born as the 'middle child' in a triplet birth of Kenithe, Justine, and herself. Her parents, Abrinde and Gilas, were poor workers whose income was solely based upon what little they could earn through tending the fires and torches of the various bazaars. They lived in a crowded alleyway along with several other families. Food was scarce and comfort was minimal, as the paltry shelter had to be divided up between so many. But the perk of living with so many families was that Giselle always had a willing playmate as a young child. She could romp about with the other little ones, and think her thoughts all she wished. But her somewhat happy childhood soon ended on a fateful visit to the Central Bazaar. She was about two years old then, bright and fit. She possessed a passion for art, and was examining the many wares displayed. As she pored over delicately carved statuettes of roses, slave merchants snatched her and dragged her off. She struggled hard but they were very strong and had an icy grip. She was eventually sold to some rich old couple and would take advantage of their elderly age to sneak out and visit her brother Kenithe, who was also captured and enslaved. But alas one day she was caught, and Kenithe's owner slashed at him in a fury which ended up killing him from the loss of blood among other factors. When Giselle's owners found out, they sold her back to the slave merchants, and she still waits in her dreadful cage. ♫ it's a wind-torn world we live with the leaves of shattered glass and the sky with burnished blood and all the promises here are made to be broken ♪ |
