His appearance is seemingly threatening, much similar to his actual personality. His large paws and extended claws can be very influential, and his claws combined with his dangerous eyes and sharp teeth are often the best tools he has when it comes to persuasion. This persuasion usually ends or starts with fear, but never mind that. He doesn't mind it, anyway. With his cut, carved muscles that practically ripple under his pelt, he always feels in complete power. It almost appears that his pelt is a size too small for his actual body. Fenris' paws are very large, serving him well in keeping his balance, as does his thick, fluffy tail. The scar running along Fenris' left back shoulder blade is a deep, dark scarlet color, and it tends to characterize him wherever he goes. It's an ugly cut, that's for sure, and delivered by the claws of kin nonetheless. He admires it, though- practically loves it himself- and makes sure to show it off whenever he can. Fenris' spots decorate his features beautifully, his ears and underbelly a pure white and the rest of his coat more of a silver/gray color. His coat is, of course, decorated with glorious spots, which he also prizes, as they characterize him as a proud snow leopard. The tip of his muzzle below his nose is white, while his actual nose is pink. Fenris' eyes are jewels in themselves. They are actually quite beautiful, being gray in color with touches of amber seemingly brushed over them. This gives them a menacing glow, a special shine. This can make them shine in delight or fury, scaring the hell out of anyone who decides to mess with him. Fenris most certainly considers them his best physical asset, letting them widen in fury when he wants to go for the kill. If anyone questions him, they need only to look into his eyes and feel the panic flow through them. ♫ and only in the center can we begin to repair ♪ Preferences Fenris' preferences can seem twisted to some, and perfectly natural to others. He naturally craves power, and his position as king is the most important thing in his life. He puts nothing before his own royal kingship and anyone who says otherwise may just be a threat. Next comes his family, more specifically his children, since they continue on the Arei lineage, but only so long as they don't challenge his rule. His mate, of course, is also very important to him, and he'd do almost anything for her. Almost. But to Fenris, his priorities are perfectly straight. Power comes first. Then family. He has a good sense of style and wants things to be perfect and grand. He sees luxory as a sign of his power. Grander, grander, more, more, more. Fenris hates thieves and liars with a passion. Traitors are also high on his list of dislikes, and he will deal with anyone guiltily charged, or even anyone questionable, accordingly. But of there is one thing Fenris hates above all else, it's any creature or animal who is a threat to his crown. Fenris will not let anything or anyone stand in the way of his glory, and if you're even the smallest threat, you'd better watch out. He's known for killing cats in their sleep. Strengths Fenris basically feeds off of the fear of others. This is probably his favorite thing about power- actually seeing his dominance through the terror of ones who are weaker or of less importance than he is. It fuels his adrenaline and power. He also occasionally finds joy in spending time with his children, but that is only if he is in a good mood, which is rare. Weaknesses The main weakness in Fenris' life is Fenris himself. He has a way of psyching himself out, tricking his own mind or feeling that he's already on top of things when there's still a long battle ahead. Overconfidence is really his main problem- it blocks out his own sense of reality. Impatience is also a huge issue. Fenris is very impatient, and if anything manages to trigger his temper, anyone within a mile radius is in danger. He demands that everything be punctual regardless of who it is. It doesn't matter if he's late, everyone else should always be on time for him. Those that upset him in any way shape or form should start praying for their lives. Personality The king's mind is closed off to everyone with the exeption being his queen. He accepts advice and at times, even asks for it from royal advisors and ambassadors, but the final decision remains his alone. Advice given usually has minimal weight and will be completely disregarded with some physical violence unless specically asked for and arranged. Vitani is the only cat who can give him advice without his asking and not get mauled. Her word has more weight to Fenris than all of his advisors combined. Before a final decision is made, Fenris prefers having a bit of quiet time alone in his garden to think over everything. This is the only ounce of "fairness" anyone will get out of him. His alone time to ponder decisions is the only break from his near tyranical rule. Fenris is as aggressive as they come. He believes that everything can be resolved in force or torture, though he tends to save these tactics for those who need it most. If one little claw steps out of line by anyone, even his own family, he'll let them know in a hurry. In the Arei family, Fenris is the ruler, and he won't let anyone forget it. His fear of his children taking over some day, however, is slowly growing in the pit of his stomach, and he dreads the day where he hands over his crown. He will do anything in his power to delay that day, you can count on that, but for now he has a few more years, at least. That may not be enough to settle his thirst for power, however. Fenris is power hungry, that has clearly been portrayed already. He will stop at nothing to keep his royal place. He is king. Anyone who says otherwise is walking on thin ice with him. With his family it is much the same, and he's rarely around long enough to be with his children. He's not a family man. He actually thinks true love is sort of ridiculous. Fenris loves his wife and his children, of course, and if anyone touches a claw on the royal blood he'll go all out. Fenris prefers playing with his male children more, but he'll protect his princesses too, of course. His attitude is considered a little bit sexist, he believes the men should dominate, but that doesn't mean a female can't rule either. Fenris admires all power, no matter who owns it. In the purest sense of love, Fenris is unable to love anyone or anything except, perhaps, himself. He loves his mate as a cat, an advisor, as a mother, and while he strongly says otherwise, there are hints of 'true love' towards Vitani. His love towards his children is reserved and doesn't love them like his mate. He sees his sons as potential threats to his rule and would very much like to keep them right where they are with high ranks that are lower than himself. Hate and anger are common occurrences in him as well, but those are a bit obvious. Fenris is very much under the impression that violence is the answer to everything. His treatment of personal servants and slaves exemplifies this tendancy. He considers those 'heathens' to no higher than dirt. He has his favored servants who are given a few special privileges. The king would enjoy watching his slaves fight amongst themselves for a favored position. Extra rights do come at a price. If his lust for power means anything, it should equate to his extreme possessiveness. His kingdom belongs to him alone. Every cat who calls Dulce 'home' belongs to him from the lowest slave to the highest noble. Everyone is 'his property'. He believes that he owns everything from the dirt of the roads to the trees of the forest to every inch of his splendid palace. That too, all belongs to him. He is extremely possessive of his family and should another cat even think of laying a claw on his Queen or the royal family, death is soon to follow. No one touches Vitani except Fenris. His children follow a similar opinion. Only another snow leopard of high birth (royalty much appreciated) with explicit permission from Fenris should even think about touching the royal offspring. The older progeny are given slightly more leeway than the younger members, but Fenris likes to know what his children are up to all the time. It is only to defend his position as king, after all. ♫ can we dream of the pyre of the bodies consumed there ♪ Family Mate- Vitani Daughter- Grace, Xylouris Son- Damask Future son in law- Zerissen Brother- Hato [Dead] Regrets In all, Fenris really has no regrets. He did everything he had to do to become king, and he's just so happy to be there. The death of his brother was a necessity and besides, those who get in his way deserve to be...eliminated. Secret Ambitions Fenris' ambitions were always to become king, and now he's quite successful. He wants to rule for as long as he lives, even though that won't happen with his children aging as they are. This could be a very heavy conflict on him in a personal battle between family and power. But he still has two more years, he'll deal with it when the time comes. History Fenris grew up in a royal and pampered environment. His family was in the royal lineage for quite a while, and he is certainly proud of his pure blood. He had one older brother, Hato. As Fenris began to mature, however, and as he began to see the life his father lead, he craved the taste of being the all-seeing ruler. It was a taste just dancing on his tongue, and it was so sweet. He wanted it so badly, he wanted it immediately. Fenris needed to be king, he realized that at a young age, and he knew he was going to have to do anything in his abilities to get it. Hato had always been a kind-spirited, faithful brother, but Fenris was quite the opposite. When Hato was just about to turn 6, the magical age where the heirs flourish in their new power, he managed to get himself in an accident. A gang of rogue male lions cornered him in an alley and ganged up on him, beating him to death. Fenris rushed to the scene, being conveniently in the neighborhood, where he earned the scar on his shoulder. Somehow, when the other royals finally found the young princes, Hato was slaughtered and Fenris had blood staining his paws. A dirty, deep gash oozed blood out of Fenris' back, and many questioned the truth in his lion story. But Fenris won over the best person possible to win. His father. Fenris' father, much like Fenris himself, loved power, and whether he admired his son's integrity or actually believed his story, the king let Fenris off the hook. When Fenris took the throne, no one would dare question his motives on the night that Hato died. Fenris hooked up with Vitani just before his crowning. She was from a good family, as was he, and he had no trouble becoming her mate. She, too, was strong and intelligent, and Fenris admired that about her. Before they met he'd heard rumors of her foolishness and silly charm, but he was thoroughly surprised and impressed in her astounding beauty and wonderful personality. He accepted her into his family and have his children, loving her all the time. Grace, his first-born, became his little princess, Damask his son. And Zerissen, of course, his future son-in-law, became part of the family as well. Fenris continues to rule Dolce elegantly and intensely, confident that no one will dare to cross him, especially after the Hato incident. He is determined to keep the power in his grasp as long as possible, no matter what it takes. ♫ it's a wind-torn world we live with the leaves of shattered glass and the sky with burnished blood and all the promises here are made to be broken ♪ |
