Normally the plains would have been an unforgiving place. A place that the sun shone unforgivably on anyone who had the misfortune to wander there... but at night that was all changed. It was rather cool, despite being in the midst of summer, night had a tendency to do that...
Out on the plains a pure golden lioness twirled and flipped, here there were no trees which she could perform her acrobatics. No. There was nothing but grass and tree stumps, which at the right moments could be used to give a bit of leverage. This could be noticed as the lioness leaped high into the air and turned a front flip, landing nimbly on her front paws. With concentration on her face she lifted one front paw into the air and balanced a moment before falling onto all four feet. This wasn't all that she had planned though for she suddenly ran forward and somersaulted, then she twirled around as if chasing her tail before finally, panting, she took a rest.
The large golden feline paced over to a stump and lay down beside it, her good eye searched the horizon for anything. Any sign of life... But of course, nothing came into view. With a sigh the lioness laid her head on her paws. And why should she expect anything different? It was the middle of the night. Who in there right mind would be out so late? Only she, the lion who insisted on practicing her acrobatic skills when nobody was watching... She half-closed her eyes and thought to herself wouldn't it be nice to sleep... Her eyes lowered a little more-then they snapped open and her head raised. Was that a shape she saw in the distance? She couldn't tell... It was so dark and it was so far away... She wished her eyes were a bit better...

A thick, black coat easily blended with the shade of the night, appearing only as a shadow itself in the darkness. The small male found himself enjoying this advantage, for he wasn't easily found. As much as he liked company, and playing, he somehow liked to blend in with the night. That was one place he fit... Barely a year old, and the kid has been through far more than anyone should in a life time. Synraid was often neglected because of the way he talked; Having to re-teach himself to speak, due to a broken speech nervous system break down, he could only speak in third person. It was cute, but more important people turned away from him in the past. He didn't know what else to expect, but he didn't let anything get him down! No, he would not become a broken spirit.
A familiar scent was offered through the light midnight breeze, and Synraid found himself becoming curious. Through the shadows, bright green, determined eyes shown. Taking a breath, the male opened his jaw, tasting the air for something that might be familiar besides the scent, but the taste did not mean anything. Taking delicate steps, Synraid trotted through the plains, pads kissing the ground as though it would break under his light touch. One thing Synraid always was, was careful. Cautious, despite his personality.
Soon, he saw the familiarity. A golden pelt, multicolored eyes, it was definitely the dancer! She was looking right in his direction as well. Smiling brightly, he began to trot over, trying to look graceful and like her. Just out of the shadows, he jumped in the air, and spun around, a 180. Even he was surprised he had that in him, but he pretended he knew what he was doing. Did you see what he did!? He asked excitedly, grinning with pride.

The lioness stared intently into the night, her head turned slightly to the right so she could watch better. However, nothing seemed to come into focus so she slowly lowered her head back to her paws, her eyes closed and sleep would have come easily if not for the scent that tickled her nose. Now she knew that someone else was around, she just couldn't see who! Her head raised once more and she nearly called out in a threatening voice until something twirling in the air caught her attention.
Then it hit her all at once; the scent and the reason she couldn't really see the cat before her was because it was a black jaguar. A young black jaguar. Synraid if she remembered correct, which she was sure that she did. It was hard not to forget the cute cat who insisted upon trying the tricks that he saw the graceful dancer doing.
The little jaguar was now upon her and she could fully see him, the happy bright green eyes and the cub-like innocence that he seemed to radiate. Did you see what he did!? A smile worked its way onto her face and she couldn't help but let out a small laugh. "Indeed I did, little bit, and I must say that you've improved from the last time I saw you."

She fixed him with her sapphire eye and gave a toothy grin. Her tail wiggled behind her in the grass and it created a soft swishing noise as it moved. "Say, shouldn't you be asleep right now with your mother? Or did you get separated from her?" If so she'd be happy to take him back, it would make her feel great if she could help a little lost cub out. [/blockquote][/blockquote]
