Tree to tree. New sighting at each. New things to be discovered. Thankfully She can see in the dark. Who knows what might be lurking in the dark deathtrap. Paths light up at the sight of them leading you around like your in a maze. If you wise enough, You know not to follow them.
Relaxing in a tree of her dreams, was a beautiful young female. Her pelt blending in with her dark surroundings, all you could purely see were here white purple eyes. A mixture of two unique colors. gaze into them and you'll feel like your flying. Zuri herself felt like she was flying in a dream. The tree she was in was very big to was she was she was use too. She climbs to the tallest branch just to scent the fresh air and sight the sunlight.
Pouncing from branch to branch and maybe resting at a couple along the way. She began to ware herself out. climbing may be easy for her, but it gets difficult in a period of time. Knowing that, Zuri Saw a dip in the middle of the tree trunk and plumped down in the center of that. A few minutes later, she was out. Not for long though. She was awoken by a sound. A beautiful voice Humming an interesting solo. Her ears flickered, but her eyes didn't reveal the Face from whom the voice was coming from.
Curiosity struck her body like lighting. It had come to her. This must be what the Trails are for! She thought. Without even thinking twice, She picked a trail to follow. The first trail she picked,Zuri---Being over confident--- felt that it would take her straight to the voice.
Moments later, She found herself back at her dream tree. She obviously went in a circle. Well that's okay ill just take a different path! Zuri Huffed as she started at the second path. Once again;Moments later it took her back to the same place she was before. No worry. Zuri is persistent. Trying Multiple paths in each direction, they led her not all back to her dream tree, But ended in a different oasis in the dark forest. As she tried to backtrack her steps, She got even more lost and couldn't find the tree. She began tow Worry, But held it together.
Somebody ought' to be out here to help me get out. How big could this forest be?! Zuri Said.

The myths of the forest were well known... The legendary cat Dulcet was said to be heard singing here at the shining stone lying at the center of the dark forest. However, in Sky's opinion only a fool would try to find that stone. It could be suicide trying to make it to the path that led to it, which was why she made sure to stay near the path or landmarks that she knew well. Like the tree she currently perched on.
It was rather large and other smaller trees surrounded it, so to her it was called big-tree... Not a very creative name but it worked nonetheless... So, the lioness sat on a tree branch and closed her eyes, preparing herself for the leap she was about to take. The said leap she was about to do would carry her to one of the smaller trees, right onto one of the smaller branches.
Finally after a few moments the lioness opened her different colored eyes, her good one focusing intently on the small branch. Then, using all her skill she leaped and landed with her front two paws on the branch. The small limb sagged under her weight and if she wasn't careful it would snap and send her crashing painfully to the ground. So, with eyes narrowed she focused her weight away from her legs and slowly lifted herself up. She was purely balanced on her forelegs with her hind raised into the air, she held this pose for a moment, imaging that there was a crowd watching her. Then, she put her hindpaws on the branch and sat there. Her weight stayed focused away from her legs so that she wouldn't break the branch. Now for my grand finale!
|
However, she never got to do her grand finale as something caught her ear. Somebody ought' to be out here to help me get out. How big could this forest be?! Very big actually... Forgetting about her current performance the young lioness walked through the treebranches like an ocelot or some other lightweight, smaller cat until she was standing only a few feet from the feline who had spoken. It was a lynx... A young one by the looks of it. Probably some poor cat who had gotten lost. "I believe I can help you out. You see, I come to these forests pretty often and thus I know where the correct path to get out is... If you want my help, that is..." Skydancer gave a friendly smile and she sat down on the branch with her tail curling lazily around her paws. ((Hope you don't mind me jumping in :3)) [/blockquote][/blockquote]

It seemed as though there was no such thing as silence in this forest. Birds chattered, gossiping whatever news happened throughout the lands. Crickets chirped restlessly, as though begging for attention. Everything seemed to fit in so perfectly, though. It was like a symphony of perfection, the sounds and smells and sights. However, one thing stuck out to obviously in this forest; The medium sized black feline, with almost glowing green eyes.
His eyes were not only magnificent, they were searching, but only receiving oblivion. The forest had no real meaning, did it? It couldn't, it was only a place. That's why when Synraid looked for anything, he only saw one thing; Colors! Not a soul in sight. It was a little lonely, but from a male as young as him it was not uncommon.
There was one place the male had no interest in looking, however. And it was his answer, cause soon, two scents drifted past his nasals. Lioness, and lynx. Looking up, Synraid saw a beautiful lioness with multicolored eyes, and she was obviously a dancer. She was so graceful for her size in a tree, so fluid and never seeming to fault. Synraid watch in awe, for she was amazing. However, a voice cut through and she stopped. A lynx came into view, and the lioness spoke to her.
The lioness in the tree, lynx on ground, Synraid trotted into their view, smiling brightly, his black coat shimmering. Hey! He said quickly, then looking up into the tree, at the lioness. That was amazing! Synraid snickered, and started jumping around a little, trying to imitate her movements, however, was unsuccessful. He only smiled, though. He was just a kid, he could have fun.

Looking around for a sign of life. This dark forest was beginning to give Zuri the chills. Only because she kept on hearing a soothing voice down paths and wanting to follow them but decided not to get lost in the depths of the forest no more.
Zuri Sat down thinking of if anybody was going to come at all. Of course not to look for her. Just to happen to walk by. She didn't like dark places much. She only liked them if she was comfortable and eyes were closed; I would be dark either way.
Zuri's Ears flickered. I believe I can help you out. You see, I come to these forests pretty often and thus I know where the correct path to get out is... If you want my help, that is... Zuri swung her head back to see a lioness perched up in a tree. Actually that would be great! I'm lost obviously. Zuri says as she Climbs a tree across from the lioness.
Zuri studied With her name. I'm Zuri by the way. Zuri Anastas. As she bowed to welcome The lioness. Waiting for a reply, Zuri started to think about when her parents use to tell stories of this forest. About how a foolish animal would come waltzing into the forest and be amazed by the sound of the voice. They would follow trail after trail after trail to find it. They wouldn't even get to see where the voice was coming from because the trails they take would lead them to their death before they got to it. Zuri's eyes opened with amazement. The she sighed for thinking about how dumb she was.
Another face came into the picture now. It was a young male black leopard. He was talking to the lioness. Hey! that was amazing! he shouted as he pounced around trying to imitate her moves. he was obviously young but it brought a slight smile to her face. Zuri glanced at him from above. Her white purple eyes starring into him. studying him.

A slender ocelot slipped through the shadows in the safety of the trees of the forest. She had heard the rumors of the legendary Dulcet but never really believed in them. The song, the stone, everything about it seemed far fetched for Sasha. Her beliefs were rooted in staying alive from day to day. There was no time in her life for hunting down myths and legends and bettime stories. Despite her doubts, there were times when the ocelot thought she could hear the mysterious song. Some nights, it drove her mad trying to block it out. Sasha told herself time and time again that the singing was just some cat with nothing better to do. There was no stone and the myths were myths, nothing more. The small cat moved silently from one branch to another, tree to tree, with utmost balance in consideration. That infamous stone had to be somewhere around here, right?
Sasha tried to stablize herself on the branch she just landed on. It was swaying under her weight and that alone made the cat mildly nervous. She wasn't sure how high up she was off the ground, but whatever the height, it might kill her to fall. Quickly, she bunched her muscles to spring off the branch and onto a sturdier looking section of another tree. Another pitch from the slender limb and Sasha found herself falling. The speed of her descent picked up quickly and the ocelot prepared for the worst. She felt herself hit something below her and waited for life to be taken away. That annoying singing could clearly be heard and the ocelot dared to open her eyes. She had landed on a dying sapling that had lost the race for sunlight. Gingerly, Sasha picked herself up and surveyed her new surroundings. The ground wasn't too far away and from there, the feline could pick another tree and ascend back into the branches. Without further ado, the female ocelot jumped to the ground and scrambled back up the strong trunk of a tall tree nearby. She heaved a sigh of relief once she was back int the safety of the trees.
Life in the trees at night wasn't really suited to great eyesight. The ocelot wasn't a hawk by any means. From her lofty perch, she could smell other cats. Some of the scents meant nothing to her. Other cats lived here in the forest and she didn't care. The scent of a lion, however, mildly perked her interest in a bored sort of way. Lions were plains animals and a rarity in such thick undergrowth. With carefully placed steps, Sasha creeped closer to where the scents were coming from until she was practically on top of the whole arrangement. A lynx and a lion. The lion confused the ocelot the most. It moved like an ocelot--born and raised in the trees, but it was not an ocelot by appearance. The lion was too big and colored all wrong. The lynx normall lived in the mountains, or so Sasha had been told. It was strange to her that such a creature would even be in the forest, but no matter. Last came a jaguar. A normal forest dweller by Sasha's standards. She watched with mild interest. The threesome had minimal conversation and in general, the whole situation bored the ocelot. "Well, well, well. A couple misplaced species and a real contender for my sanity. How interesting. That lion is the only one of any interest to me. Even so, interest is only in passing. Excellent, I doubt they even notice my presence so high up above them in my own luxorious home. Do they seek the myth of Dolcet? Perhaps. I care nothing for that sort of nonsense. Kits' tales! Talking with them would simple bore me. I should be sleeping or hunting. Ah, that will be next on my list. Surely a bit of observing won't hurt anyone." Sasha made herself comfortable on the sturdy tree limb and watched idly. Her tail swung loosely over the branch amd the feline made no attempt to join in on the conversation. The only thing she ever said were her musings about the odd gathering of cats below her.

Sky nodded as she watched the smaller cat make her way to a closer branch. The lioness kept herself from making a remark that would sound rude like: yeah, I can see that or duh, why else would you be wandering around here? She just smiled and returned the bow politely. "Nice to meet you, Zuri! My name's Skydancer. Skydancer the Wandering Acrobat and Dancer! And also it seems that I'm an aid to lost travelers.

She laughed for a bit until another voice cut through her merriment. Hey! that was amazing! The golden feline turned her head around sound that her good eye made contact with the animal on the ground. It appeared to be a young black leopard... and he seemed to be impressed with her tricks. Skydancer couldn't help but give an elegant bow to the young cat and she giggled at his attempts to imitate her. "That was a very nice try, little bit, and thank-you. Now, what might your name be? And are you lost too? I don't mind leading you both out of this dangerous forest." She glanced mischievously at the two younger cats and unable to help herself she decided to show off a bit more. "Excuse me, Zuri, but I think I'm gonna go to ground for a bit." With that, the lioness leaped nimbly to a lower branch then she leaped again towards the ground only when she first launched herself off the branch she turned a front flip and then landed gracefully on the ground with her tail and head raised into the air as if she were saying "ta-da". She sat down and again her tail curled around her paws as she glanced at the younger cats. The lioness's ears pricked as she thought she heard something speaking... However, when she glanced up into the trees she could see nothing... Odd... Well, then again this was the singing forest. What she probably heard was nothing more than that fabled singing but then again you could never be sure who was hiding in the dense leaves of the trees... Synraid had a way of making people smile all the time, he was just, in nature, adorable and easily had such affects on others. He started giggling after he stopped, and smiled triumphantly. He was quiet the interesting male, for it seemed impossible for him to be embarrassed about anything.
The lioness began talking, commenting on Synraid's dancing. He grinned, showing a little teeth, his ears propping up with excitement. He then answered her questions, his tail twitching with joy. He is not lost! No, he's not! Heh, his name is Synraid! It's his pleasure to meet you, miss! Synraid spoke, his voice high pitched and very childlike. He blinked his bright green eyes, and cocked his head like the dork he was, obviously having fun.
The lioness addressed the lynx, and jumped from the tree with unheard of grace. Synraid was entranced in her movements, and finding himself wanting to try again. However, he was no climber, not now anyway. He only jumped up, and landed on the ground on his two front paws, then collapsing. He only giggled with glee, loving his efforts.
You try! He smiled at the lynx. Then, he turned over to the lioness, for she was looking in the trees. Synraid looked up now, curious. He doesn't see anything, does Skydancer? Synraid asked, his mouth slightly parted, tasting the air.
