The hustle and bustle of the market would have been annoying or exciting to most felines of the city of Dolce, as you make your way through the central bazaar, looking at the many entertainers and artisans, examining the wares and enjoying your time, you do not expect there to be any downside to this area.
You are sadly wrong.
As you slip through, there is a darker area of this bazaar, a place most feline's haven't a clue even exists, or at least haven't got a clue why they should care. It's the slave market, a place were enslaved felines are sold to their new masters, the highest paying bidder. This place you found yourself in was a dark one, a place some wouldn't want to be.
This is the place Artemis found herself.
The young snow leopard was only 4, and the daughter of a noble, but she wasn't here to purchase, she was here as one of those to be purchased, as slave. The female sighed, swiveling her ears to listen to the sounds of many a feline pass by, wondering aloud about one slave or anonther, most had avoided her, either because of the fact that she was of the species set to be royalty in Dolce, or her crime, killing three nobles. Of course they wouldn't know she was tricked into it, but she was disowned by her family, blinded for her crime, and enslaved and was now on the market.

Jacque had seen the slave market before, at least, he had in a way. He was familar with all of the darkest parts of town. All of the places that no one really ever thought of going. Through dark alleyways where killers lurked. Jacque was part assasin, after all. He had been trained, by his father, to know where to lure the target. The silent movements, and the places that Jacque should keep imprinted in his mind. And the slave market was, obviously one of them.
So Jacque had closed up his artisan's shop early and slipped off to the slave market. Not that he had been aiming at purchasing a slave. He really came out here to see if his father had come back around. And to browse, a bit. The male had contemplated a slave once, he could afford it, with both of his jobs. Plus, it wasn't like he couldn't keep a slave in line.
So Jacque had arrived here with an idea of purchasing a slave to help out with his artisan's trade slowly blooming in his mind. Jacque knew he could handle it himself, all of the orders - or, more likely was stubbornly determined not to admit that he couldn't do it all by himself. So, yes, the male could use a bit of help. And as the male padded down the paths, holding himself like he belonged, because, well, in a way, he did.
The snow leopard caught his eye, in some way, he had only expected carcals, or whatever the smaller cats were called. Not a snow leopard. Snow leopards currently resided within the castle, so he copuldn't imagine one of them ending up in the slave market. In some, small way, she reminded him of himself. An artist in the misfit world of a killer.
And so, the cougar stepped forward, towards the snow leopard and her seller. "So, who's this?" The male asked, his voice cold and even. He had learned the language of the, well, darker parts of the community long ago. The male's eyes remained focused on the seller of the snow leopard, and the snow leopard herself.
"I've been looking for a bit of help around my stall." He said, his voice retaining the same cold monotone, and his eyes still wary. It was better to be on high alert, towards these parts of town. At least, that was in his belief. But it varyed, depending on the cat, he supposed.

Artemis sat with her ears twitching, wondering when her seller would just give up on selling her. She turned her head aside, ears perked as they listened to paw steps just go on by, until a set started approaching. She kept her head down, bending farther to lick at a spot on her leg that had been tickled by her seller’s tail swishing past it when he stood. She kept her head down as she straightened, scenting the air to figure out who was interested in her. A cougar, she frowned, the last cougar she met had manipulated her. She shook her head to clear her thoughts as he spoke. “So, who’s this?” He asked her seller, Artemis’s ears twitched as she kept her ‘eyes downcast’. “Her name’s Artemis Marcin.” Her seller spoke gruffly. “You interested?” “I’ve been looking for a bit of help around my stall.” The cougar’s voice came again, Artemis’s ears twitched in interest, a stall? Possibly an artisan? She raised her head slightly as her seller nudged her with a paw. “Well, I’m not sure how good she is now, but she’s a quick learner, so I’m sure she’d be fine enough.” Her seller said confidently. “Won’t you?” He asked her. She nodded. “Of course, sir.” She murmured obediently.
(OOC: Sorry, I think it's kinda bad, but... it's the best I could figure out)

Jacque watched as the seller of the snow leopard stood. The male couldn't tell if he could be recognized. Probably not. Assassins stayed out of the spotlight, no one really knew who they were, ever, really. The would only know him as the cat who made the realistic colors, features always on target, painting, well, not as good as his sculpting. And Jacque prefered that, quite a bit, over his second life. His second job.
Jacque gave a nod as the seller introduced the sanow leopard as Artemis Marcin. He didn't recognize the name. But then again, how could he? He had been in the shadows for most of his cub hood, out in the forest training with his father, or maybe watching his mother work as an artisan. And,, sometimes collapsed in his mother's home, recovering from his wounds, and the healer's medicine. So yes, he had been out of the public eye for the most part.
"Yes, I am interested." He said, his voice remaining the same tone as he responded to the question asked by the seller. So, yes, now he was positive that he would like a slave, to help out. Maybe gather ingredients for paint, or find good pieces of wood for carvings. Well, the cougar wasn't sure yet, but he knew that he needed a bit of help, and, well, that was all there was to it.
Jacque gave a nod when the seller said that the snow leopard, Artemis, was a quick learner. That would help, quite a bit. Especially if she might have to learn multiple things to help out aroud his stall. He nodded when the seller asked the snow leopard if she was a quick learner, and the snow leopard responded with a yes.
Jacque gave a nod, "Ok." He said, contemplating for a few moments before giving a nod, "Yes, I think I would like to purchase her." He said, giving another nod as he finished speaking.

Artemis flicked her ears when an insect buzzed by them, attempting to figure out what was going on as she sat there, waiting for the cougar to speak again. "Yes, I am interested." She lashed her tail, the only sign of her excitement and aprehension. She sat calmly, keeping herself under control as seh listened to the cougar's next words. "Ok." There was a momentary pause while Artemis listened for his decision. Then finally, he spoke again. "Yes, I think I would like to purchase her." Artemis smiled faintly dow nat the ground, her ducked head hiding it from sight. She could practically hear the smile in her seller's voice as he spoke. "Wonderful, I'm glad you decided so." He practically purred. Artemis twitched her ears as he nudged her. "I'm sure you'll both be happy with this set up." He spoke calmly, and Artemis raised her head, turning to him with the faint smile and a nod. She then sat still, 'staring' at her buyer as she twitched her ears. She was curious about this cougar, she did not even know his name yet, and she was probably going to be spending a lot of time, if not most of her life, with him as her master... well, she had plenty of time to figure him out then.

Jacque gave a slight smile as the seller spoke, saying that he was glad that he had decided to purchase her. It was amusing, how delighted the seller seemed to be, being able to get himself rid of the snow leopard, Artmeis. Or, maybe it was something else. Jacque couldn't really be sure. But, it seems resonable that the seller would be happy about selling the slave that he had been selling.
Jacque gave a slight nod when the seller said that he was sure that they would be happy with this set up. He noted Artemis's nod and slight smile. Jacque would have thought as slaves as being sort of quiet, and off to the side, but the female didn't seem like that at all. It was a bit admirable, in his book, anyway. Of course, the only way that he knew was because of stories, from both his mother and father. And the stories that his father told, him varied much from what his mother had told him.
Jacque gave a slight nod to the seller once again, "May, we, be on our way, now?" He almost said "I," being so used to being, well, alone. By himself, fending for himself. Well, he would have to get used to that soon. At least, he hoped he would be able to get used to it. Out of his lonely, crafting life. Even if he did talk, ocassionally, to his neighboring artisans.

Artemis's ears and tail twitched sperratically as she waited for her seller or the strange male to speak. Her buyer was the one to break the silence. "May, we, be on our way, now?" He asked, her seller spoke. "Of course sir. As you wish." He murmured politely. Artemis could hear that he was still smiling, and smiled as she thought of what this cougar might be like. Perhaps he would be a kind buyer, one who was patient and willing to deal with her... disability(a small voice in her head said: Just admit your blind you idiot) and would be nice to her. Another option was the seller who couldn't care less, told you what your duties were, expected you to carry them out, and only explained once. And the final one, and the one she hoped he wasn't, was the abusive or harsh buyer. the one who would possibly beat or at least yell at you if she messed up, expected you to behave and carry out your duties. If he was the last, she didn't care, she'd be leaving, she'd run, as far and fast as she could. She rose to her paws as she speculated, waiting obediently for her buyer to begin moving or tell her something.
