She has long slender legs, a short tail and a head that looks a bit too small for her body. All in all it makes her quite an attractive serval. Her fur is a light gold that fades to light cream at her flanks, muzzle, and neck. Her short tail is light gold all over and has a black tip. Mercii has ebony spots all over her body and her eyes are a dark stormy gray, a dark gray that appears to be looking through you instead of at you... Mercii's fur is painted here and there with spots of lavender. This isn't natural, mind you, Mercii has done this to herself over the years. Painting spots of purple paint here and there to give herself a unique appearance... This isn't the only thing she's done either, under both eyes she has smears of purple paint and above each eye is a dark blue star. In between her eyes is a blood-red colored pawprint shape. All of these paint marks she did herself, making her live up to the title of "The Painted One". ♫ and only in the center can we begin to repair ♪ Preferences Likes: Painting, Solitude (when she's working), Gossiping (when she's not working), Business Dislikes: Laziness, Nosiness (in others), Her work being insulted, Slavery Strengths Art-skills, Good at turning a situation to her favor, Creative Weaknesses Impatient (with others, not her work), Can't resist a juicy bit of gossip, Money/Ivory, Slaves Personality This serval loves to be in the know about everything and anything. When she's not painting or working on some sort of art she can be found where there are lots of cats, listening in on whatever she can hear. She may even be enticed to let you in on what she's heard... But only for a price, especially if it's something extra juicy... Besides gossip, Mercii has another passion... She loves anything to do with art. Especially painting and sculpting. Usually she can be found making art for others or for herself (as you can see from her fur or if you enter her den how much paintings and sculptures she has scattered around). If it wasn't for the prospect of hearing some delicious gossip she probably wouldn't leave her den at all for her art. If someone would want her to create art for them or paint something on them she would be more than happy to do it, for a price of course... Money is always something that this serval loves and she has amassed quite a bit of wealth over the years... However, there are a few types of citizens that she would be happy to create art for free of charge. That would be slaves (she feels sorry for them and loves to brighten their day with art, even if they don't ask for it) and those that come from the slums (she herself used to live there and she has a soft spot for them). Her free art giveaways for slum-dwellers and slaves is only a known fact among them, although sometimes it gets to the higher ranking citizens and they try to demand free art... Mercii doesn't stand for this and it shows quickly that she has a short temper. She hates when others demand art from her or beg her for art... It's just a pet peeve of hers and she will most likely turn you away if you try to beg for free art... She also hates when others try look over her shoulders while she works or otherwise try to be nosy and talk to her when she's busy. She hates that and has no trouble with throwing hints: a glare or two, some not-too-nice comments, and being short... However if those don't work she has no trouble with point-blank just telling you to leave and usually when she does this she isn't too nice about it. After all, there's nothing more annoying than cats who can't take hints and usually this goes for anyone who wants to get business from her. If you catch this serval while she isn't working then she'll be a totally different feline. She quite enjoys a nice chat (especially where there's gossip involved) and can easily talk your ear off. ♫ can we dream of the pyre of the bodies consumed there ♪ Family Sella Longclaw (Mother- Deceased), Derik Longclaw (Father-Deceased) Regrets Not being able to save her parents. Secret Ambitions To one day make art for the King and Queen... and of course make a profit from it. And, to become the most well-known and best artisan in Dolce. History Mercii has lived up to her name over the years, twice she has actually... The first was when she was born. All of the kits in her mother's litter died since Sella lived in poor conditions in the slums. She was malnourished and her babies had little chances to live, but somehow Mercii managed to pull through. That's why her mother gave her that name... since it seemed that Ano and Anrithka had had mercy on her... It seemed even moreso that way when at a very young age the serval seemed to have a talent for art. She could create sculptures and she figured out how to use plants to make different colored dye for when she carved things out of bark. She even found out how to paint her fur but it was hard for her to figure out how to keep it from washing away when she took a bath... As the young serval grew she learned more and more things about her art, she even figured out how to make a dye fixture to keep the color from washing away, thus she became "The Painted One" in her village when she started putting permanent dye in her fur. Her parents disapproved of the action but couldn't really do anything now that the dye was there (and it would take another year for Mercii to figure out a mixture to remove the dye). Now that she was well established in her slum city she wanted to try and head into Royale Circle to showcase her talents with the best entertainers and artisans, she had an even better reason once her parents both fell sick with an illness that required medicine that was only obtainable in the Royale Circle... So, Mercii set off to try and showcase her talent and obtain the medicine all in one swoop... However, it didn't work that way... She was immediatley taken into slavery and by the time that she was able to prove that her skills were valid so she could be freed, it was too late... She received word that her parents had died... So, instead of returning back where she had come from she stayed in the Royale Circle to make herself better known, sometimes she traveled to the other circles with some of her art to sell and also to gather information about everyone and everything she could. Within a few short years she had gained quite a bit of wealth and renown but still not enough to satisfy her... She wants to be known by the King and Queen so they will use her art and maybe even hire her for their own personal artist... A serval can dream, right? ♫ it's a wind-torn world we live with the leaves of shattered glass and the sky with burnished blood and all the promises here are made to be broken ♪ |
